Has he got a new album coming out, per chance? Someone at the BBC must be getting a large back-hander, judging by all the publicity and plugging they are giving him on radio 2. Not that I dislike his music, in fact I like a lot of the older stuff; but this kissing of his arse by the BBC is nauseating.

As much as I want to agree with this, the thought of a possible 'Paul McCartney Airport' just leaves me cold.

Sir Paul McCartney has given an impromptu gig in Covent Garden during the lunchtime rush.

"Good afternoon," he told that assembled crowd of more than 2,000 fans. "Welcome to Covent Garden."

"We're just going to do some songs from our new album so get your phones out... As if they weren't already," he added.

The 71-year-old sang four songs from his latest album, New, from a truck parked on the piazza. It follows a similar stunt in New York last week.

The London gig began at 1330 BST, about an hour after Sir Paul announced it on Twitter.

No i cannot see and end to the horror . But as an individuale i take comfort that some people see the same horror as i do and are just as worried'( I am not alone )
