There are only 10 weeks to go until the end of 2011!!

I passed 3,000 miles this morning - 3,006 to be exact.

I think I have a 50/50 chance of hitting my 4,000 mile target by the end of the year, provided I stay healthy and it doesn't snow!

My other target was to get from 107kg to 90Kg by the end of the year, I am at 93.5kg now so I am on target for that one as well.

How are you all getting on with your 2011 aims?

My original target was 8,000 miles for the year.
This was down from 10,000 from each of the previous 2 years, mainly due to new small person running around the house and going from a 5 day (commuting) week to a 4 day week.
However I passed 8,000 miles in September and have now reset my target back up to 10,000 miles.
I am currently at 8,457 miles for the year to date.

I passed my year target weeks ago but that is due to basing the figure on what I did last year.
Last years total appears to show I was a lazy git to keen to use the car, unlike this year when I have not commuted by car for over four months, with just 6 days in total this year.

Passed my target of 10 miles per day (3650) a few weeks ago, have set a new one of 100 miles per week (5200) which I am just about on schedule to do.

My weight loss target is proving more difficult, 2 stone loss was my aim, am on 1st 4lbs so another 10lbs to go, unfortunately it was only 6lbs to go a few weeks ago

Target for this year is 5000 miles and 5x 100 km Audax events.

Should reach the 5000 mile marker in a shade over 2 weeks. The audax target was tucked up by the end of July.

Now I'm wondering if 10000 Km is possible (6214 miles)

Its been a good cycling year so far.

im a little tea pot
The only set a target to do more miles this year, not any limit but just up it and commute a bit more. i have done that (hitting 100 + miles a week quite a bit) but the only other target ive set is to be able to hit the heads of the valleys road from abergavenney to brynmawr without having to stop (will be trying it before christmas. 3 mile climb at 7% near the end!! yikes)

next year im gonna set more targets for me.

Puzzle game procrastinator!
Now let me see ...

  • 10 mile a day target (3,650 miles). Realistically, it isn't going to happen. It looks as though it will be more like 2,000 miles, but at least that is over double last year's pitiful 900 miles. NO!
  • Get slim again. I've managed to lose the extra flab that I put on last year, so I'm only back to where I was a year or so ago. Must try harder. NO!
  • Organise lots of forum rides in northern England - yes! I've met lots of nice people and done some cracking rides. BIG YES!
  • I organised a couple of forum rides in the Midlands which I enjoyed. They weren't planned at the start of the year. BONUS!
  • Mountain biking week in the Highlands of Scotland. BONUS!

I haven't set myself a target this year, as its my first year back in the saddle. It'd be nice to hit 3,000 miles I guess.

Next years target will be set on this year's total, so we'll see...

Just waiting for a new set of tyres for my old bike so I can put the Carbon away for this year, so commute time will no doubt increase accordingly...

Why are you putting the carbon away? Seem's such a waste. There really is no need.
If you have a nice bike then ride the damned thing.

True I guess, but I don't want to get the thing knackered by road salt et al. Where as I don't mind my old shed getting wrecked. The Carbon can come out again in Spring
