Nothing will happen. No prosecutions, no fines or points on licenses to increase inusrance premiums or trigger automatic bans. Just a letter which will be screwed up and filed in the bin if indeed it reaches the driver or at worse a "driver awareness" course .

That was discraceful driving by all of them. Typical "Oh look, they are doing it so it must be okay for me to do it" attitude. If I had been that ped, I would have just stopped on the pavement and ignored everyone.

I couldnt see in the video, but was the road blocked or was everyone avoiding a red light?

Lol the diversion was just under 2 miles:

Any poor signage and it would be pretty hard to get where you want to go! I expect half the drivers got fed up driving round one way streets in that area, and that ped didn't seem to concerned about his life being put at risk...

Police could better spend their time actually pursuing dangerous drivers rather than some random sheep avoid a road obstruction at walking speed.

Also this guys driveway acces neatly goes along the pavement, next to a gate for local infant school:

My point being, with infinte time and money, the police should probably fine those people. But I'd rather they went after a lot of the OTHER youtube videos I've seen of really dangerous driving.

I drive over the pavement everytime I get into my driveway. #perspective
.....but you don't drive along the footpath which is a criminal offence under the Road Traffic Act

The diversion is very easy to follow, only people from out of town would have a problem, if they could not read the signs.

The police are probably only interested because it was in the local paper and it shows how lacking in traffic police we are, if something like this can happen on a main road in the town centre during "rush" hour..

"“We were alerted to this issue on Tuesday and immediately contacted the contractors asking them to install more robust kerb-to-kerb barriers, which has been done."

so it was the contractor fault then...not the cockwombles in the car.

that's ok then
