I've recently bought a Brompton so I can drive some of the way to work and cycle some of it. I'm not going to call myself a cycle commuter though so I think mini-commute fits better.

Today was day 3 and I already wimped out because of the horrible weather - despite having waterproofs with me.
I feel like a fraud and need to be shamed.

TBH, been commuting for a year and rain or cold doesn't bother me, as I have the correct clothing.

The only thing which really affects me is the sodding wind.

It's nearly JUNE ffs and still, nearly every ride this week there's been a wind against me.

Aye, the wind is my pet hate. Cold I can wrap up, wet I can cover up to a reasonable degree and slow my pace a bit, but wind requires that zen induced trance like state where one removes ones consciousness from ones nervous system and plods on doggedly.

A few more weeks and the nights start drawing in again and its down hill to Winter!

Was a bit miserable this morning, but I think most of that is you're expecting the better stuff now, if this morning was as bad as it got through the winter I'd be more than happy! It was raining and windy all the way for me but there was one absolutely torrential bouncing off the road downpour, fortunately I was only a couple of minutes from work by then, still enough that the water was pouring off me when I got in though. I wonder why I bother sometimes  and wouldn't criticise anybody that didn't :okay:.

Well, it's gusting at over 55 mph (head wind too for the majority of the way home) and the rain is torrential, so tonight, for the first time in a long time I didn't ride home!

Also, my granddaughter and I camped out in the garden on Saturday night and I hadn't taken the tent down, to say I needed to get home quickly would be an understatement, it's rather exposed where I live. Made it though, just, it was getting battered, it couldn't have taken much more
