another thing about wind, I get in to work or home, and quip "crikey that was tough with that head wind" and people look at me as if I am mad you can see them looking outside or virtually licking their finger and sticking it in the air

I agree entirely, it seems that most people hardly have the faintest idea what the weather is actually like outside save to say that there was some between the carpark and work.

ETA: While getting my bike out of the bike safe at uni I actually had it blow away! A gust of wind so strong it blew my bike right out of my hand and down the path.

Just got in after stuggling against a strong headwind. Took a extra five minute! Wife stuck in traffic since 5:10pm. She is only driving 5 miles Maybe she needs a bike
