I have just had an automatic update with Windows 10. This tells me that Windows Prevent will give me full protection from viruses and firewall with the update. As I am presently using McAffee ( which I pay for yearly), Windows ask me to delete as both systems can't run together. So what do I do? Keep McAffee or use the Windows system for free?

I just use the built in windows protections as a home user, there's really no compelling reason to use McAfee, although you do get more control and better tools if you pay for their high end products, that doesn't necessarily make it better however.

We have the free windows stuff on two computers, but the two my son uses, we go belt and braces with Norton (teens downloading software from 'unknown sources'). The free stuff is usually fine.

Thank you both for your quick responses. My McAffee subscription finishes in December so, following your advice, I will cancel it. I also use another site called:
" SUPERAntiSpyware" which is very good and free. I shall keep that one though.

Superantispyware is good !! The Windows stuff is fairly 'low CPU' demanding so won't slow your system to a crawl, if it's older.
