Windscreen wash caused my last off.

Following a car, probably 2-3 car lengths away, he sprayed the screen wash and the majority of it went straight over the car, into my face. This lead to a slight wobble on an uneven road surface. Down I went.

Empty a bottle of sticky juice through the sunroof or window. I didn't say that.

It happened to me just the other week. In my case I'm absolutely certain it was an accident, but it wasn't pleasant!

It's quite common in London, vans and lorries often deliberately spray cyclists, they angle the screen nozzle outwards and sideways.

Windscreen wash can harbour nasty things :-(

I often wonder about dustcarts on wet mornings as well, do they get disinfected from time to time?

When out on my motorbike in the summer months, I've had this done to me loads of times.
I think as there is a propotion of drivers who are oblivious to what's going on around them and so do not soak you with any malice. In this scenario, they are genuinely cleaning there windscreen and I'd rather they be able to see where they are going.
There are a small moronic minority who will spray you deliberately, thinking it's funny. It may well be you've just discovered one of these mugs.
Chalk it up to experience and I hope you're not bothered by this sort of behaviour again.

An RAC Van did this to me last summer. I was coming up Bexley Hill, good sunny weather and we were the only vehicles on the road he came up next to me slowed down and sprayed me twice. I reported the idiot to customer service and got an apology.

Dear Mr

Thank you for your email below from which I was sorry to learn of your concerns with the driving of our Patrol.

RAC expects all of our Patrols to drive with courtesy to other road users and I am sorry that this was not your experience on this occasion. I will be speaking to the Patrol concerned about the incident and ensure checks are made on his van to confirm his washers are working correctly. I will also notify his Team Manager of the incident. Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused to you.

Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention and I hope that my actions meet your approval.

Yours sincerely

I had the old windscreen-washer-in-the-face once - it was definitely deliberate (car occupants laughing etc), but I definitely saw the funny side of it too! ^_^
