Wasnt bad at all on the way to work, nice and sunny. But boy on the way home there were some hairy gusts along the way!

i'm a hardened any weather cyclist. but this morning is car day, the wind has blown down my fence and kept me up most of the night. it was bad enough returning home yesterday. that's the problem with living on top of a bloody big hill. not happy.

Last night was painful

This morning looks even worse, taking the shortest route in as its also lashing it down with rain, shame, after yesterday I had gotten in some pretty high mileage figures for the week, just 17 for today by tonight tho :-(

That was hard work - lashing it down before I set off, so full waterproofs - stopped as I got out the door. As I'd only got base layers on under the waterproofs, I left them on. Like having a parachute on....

Bit hairy filtering down the outside of traffic on Manchester Road (bit exposed) as the wind was now a stiff cross wind - fair bit of buffeting.

Well I was surprised that my son wasn't the only bike in the bike shed this morning there were at least 6 I think. And managed to get blown uphill at one point which was nice... now off for my commute ... into the wind!

You know it's bad when you are pedalling hard DOWN a hill just to get to 19mph, not 30
Was doing the same last night down through Brinny, a sudden gust almost had me into the kerb.
Today I won't feel bad about taking the car, no fun when it's like this is it?

I did see all that standing traffic on the M60 as I whizzed along parallel to it. (I say whizzed - well it was compared to the traffic, but I was crawling along chewing the bars).

I thought the tornados were on the other side of the world?

A few hairy gusts on the way home last night, but nothing drastic. Riding in today however was like climbing up a bloody mountain. Not fun.

Last night flew home probably the first tail wind I'd noticed since I started commutting.....however this morning I had to take the bike due to wifey needing the car and me working late.....hard work, very hard work to get in today.
HOPEFULLY the wind will be blowing in the same direction tonight .

Well that was a 'fun' ride home, 26mph winds that didn't know which direction to blow from. One minute it was a headwind the next it was blowing me into the kerb!!
Oh and it rained too

Me too Potsy, it was a 1 in 5, 1 forward 5 to the right. I found myself leaning over into the wind just to keep a straight course. This morning was straight into the wind. Bloody knackered now.
