A breath-taking blustery wind this a.m. Side/head on. Seems worse now and hope it doesn't change by the time I go home.

Got the train to Blackpool for TOB found out it was cancelled on way down, wot a bunch of wimps..
Then walked down to the finish line you can hardly stand up its that windy.

Was the right decision as it would be far to dangerous..

Lots of nice new British Cycling team cars here but nobody to get any information from.! ! !
Cav might be coming down but nobody knows ...

Great fun this morning, came over the M42 and felt like i was going sideways where the wind was barrelling down the motorway corridor.

What's all the fuss about.

Just breezy in Manchester.

Heard a rumour that the TOB is cancelled today ?

Might be worse later ?

It's picked up this afternoon in manc. Will make the ride home hard work-might go the off road route.

I went out, my unit said 10mph average and 28mph gusts.

What a tailwind! 21mph average (over 10 miles and a bit) without even trying.

Got to go home soon

Well it was very windy for first half of the ride, especially across the mountain top but was good fun

It was quite nice this morning, very calm.

The forecast from the Met Office for the commute home looks interesting ... wind speed 30, gusting to 52 mph againsterly. At least the visibility is going to be good.

I'm travelling by overnight coach to Inverness tonight, then onwards to JOG tomorrow afternoon.

Could be interesting.

A headwind all the way! ouch.

Bet your wishing you had decided to do a LEJOG instead of a JOGLE

Trouble here on Teesside (IMHO) is that it is gusty. You're riding along and yeah, its windy but no problem and then suddenly *wham*

I'm more worried about my fence and gate though...

There's a descent on my commute which normally requires a slight squeeze of the brakes. Today I had to pedal like mad to avoid being blown up it backwards. I'm knackered now. I think I might shed actually tears on the way home.

It is so windy I now have a large crater in the back lawn. I pegged out the washing, but did not put enough pegs on some of the large items, and the washing blew up the garden.

I am sure someone will be round to look into it later.

Sods law for me it was all a side wind... I'd rather a headwind than a side wind. I had to go over the Runcorn Widnes Bridge as well, which as you can see here, is very open. Made it very hairy on the little path along side it on 23c rubber with peanut peds ignoring me then having a go at me because I wobbled due to being in a high gear.

Isn't there a cyclists dismount sign on the runcorn bridge? There certainly used to be, but that was about 15 years ago!
