I've had a go on the fab Arkose 2, which has 1x11 gearing; this is basically the same bike but singlespeed. I'm a big fan of fixed myself and if you were riding solely on the road, I would recommend it, but if you are going offroad occasionally, singlespeed is a better option.

That does look like an interesting bike; I'd like to try one out but there are no Evans shops near me. Not wholly convinced by the reviews on that site either. Neither 'a rattly bike' nor 'spin out at 15/6mph on the flat" sound like what I'm after!
