Winter Bike outdoor cover(s) - any good?

Hi. Plan to commute all winter and the Council I work for despite having a policy of encouraging cycling, wont find a space for my bike indoors somewhere!

So, thought about getting a Bike Parka or similar, but they're forty quid!!! - so wondered are they any good/ are they just a pain? / anyone used one and been pleased? etc etc....or anyone used something similar? Any advice appreciated..

Lidl are selling bike covers for £2.99 tomorrow. Might be worth getting a few as they'll no doubt get damaged from repeated use.
