I look forward to the Winter commutes, then look forward to summer. Must be better prepared with moisturiser this winter, really suffered last winter, my face was really dry.

MTB is getting Trans Pennine Proofed, spiked tyres and essential full mudguards

moisturise every day mate... you know it makes sense.
That's why the skin on my mush is like that of a baby's botty.

ps I love winter cycling.

It's for girls. You know what us northerners are like though. TBH body shop body butter stuff was quite good. Must start early this year.

Never found it a problem considering there is probably only a few days of the year when the weather is bad enough to warrent a great deal of concern down south. You live in London ice on the roads is a rather rare thing IME never mind snow.

I don't like winter full stop, the migrating birds have the right idea, I'd move to warmer climes till the spring if I could.

..That's good! Do you know how much money people pay to have the exact same effect using turbo trainer?

LOL Well there'll be loads of free turbo training experience round here December / January time!

I like riding in winter but it is different. The positives are that the flies disappear, the mud solidifies so if it's dry I can actually clean the bike less and the cars abandon the country roads to queue on the gritted ones. The negatives include it being dark both ways, being icy and quite often it's windier in the late Autumn, early Winter.

I adapt my bike with snow studs, and don't lean the bike over as much; but in some ways I prefer winter riding to summer

I'll be cycling every single morning of the weekdays and my route contains steep hills to go down lol now you know why I worry lol

I think snorri has a better idea of winter riding than anyone in London, as he lives in the north of Scotland. So trust his advice...

Winter riding is more fun. The weather is more varied and keeps you on your toes more, its also a lot prettier. Knobbly tyres on the folder for slushy days and marathon winters for the week or so after when its compacted to ice.

Some go south and others come south:smile:
I've been getting wakened up in the morning by birds for a week now, they arrived from the northern latitudes for their winter holidays and it's just one noisy party after another down the beach these days.
