As long as I breathe, I attack.
As my knees get older they feel the cold more, i have been using legwarmers for a month and this morning i had tights and a base layer along with my aldi gloves.

I'm always in long bib tights. The airtex ones won't be out till it gets down to zero, these have wind proof panels over the knee, thigh and kidney area.

Getting cold muscles ain't fun.

been in longs for about a month, I think legs need to be kept warm, mine anyway, it's certainly been comfortable, just a LS top and winter socks with summer shoes

Me too - Shorts weather is above 15 degrees or from October onwards !

This morning I was caught out though but warmed up once at work - Disadvantages of living on a steep hill by the time I get to the bottom and realising it's going to be a cold one.

As I sit at work waiting for my replacement, the temperature guage is reading 1.8c, but on my last patrol that wind was bitter.
I'm geared up in DHB full length tights (roubiax I think), DHB windslam long sleeved jersey, normal cycling socks, road cycling shoes with neoprene overshoes. I ran this set up with Seal Skinz lobster mits last winter down to -2c (below that I added leg warmers and a windproof jacket, and remained comfortable to -5c). This morning I'm trying out my new Seal Skinz 'All Weather Gloves' they were marked as 3 on the thermo scale so I thought I'd try them as the lobster mits make my hands sweat above 0c.
Shift ends in half an hour, just when the coldest temperature was forcast!!
