Winter is Finally beginning to Subside.

The blowing snow has the effect of polishing the ice making it very hard to ride on.
Not all of my winter commutes are this hard. but if it was easy everyone would be doing it.

Just the one off? Watching that I had a flashback to one icy morning a few months ago - came off twice within 50 yards ouch

At the time I had Hutchinson bulldogs I think, now I use either Top contact winter 2 or a spiked tyre i cant remember.

But the good news is that for the first time since November we can see most of the grass. There is still some snow that has not yet melted. But winter is not quiet done we will get at least one good blast of snow in the next month.

We never really had a winter (Bern Switzerland), only single figure minus temperatures and not too much snow (at 700m). However, went for a ride yesterday to do the first mountain pass of the year and one of the roads I planned to use was blocked with snow (around 1800m above SL). Unfortunately this was after about 4km of descending from the peak, so had to turn round and resume unplanned climbing to return the way I came. Couldn't be doing with the long, deep Canadian winters!
