For staying warm, decent skiing gloves are better than any cycling gloves you'll find. I have a pair that must be 20 years old, it's like cycling with my hands in an oven.

I got some Aldi ski gloves a couple of years ago which keep my hands very warm on days when it is at freezing level.

My purchase for this autumn has been some Pro Endure H2O overshoes, which are water resistant, and I hope they will make cold wet feet a thing of the past. I use sports socks on colder days too.

Must resist the urge to spend more money on lighting when my existing £20 chinese 18650 LED torch plus Polaris AA light do very well. I put a screen made from an old 35mm film container on the end of the chinese torch to help stop dazzling oncoming traffic.

Windproof LS jersey x2.
Thinsulate 400g Windproof fleece hat x3
Neck fleece x3.
Helly Hansen Primaloft ski gloves for really cold mornings other wise windproof / water resistant gloves with a thermal inner glove.

A clean and dry set of gear to ride home in.

Ditch the back pack / ruck sack and get waterproof panniers.

after a chilly ride this morning will have to start layering on longer rides,long sleeve helly hanson base layer long sleeve jersey , wind proof gilet and arm and leg warmers,seal skins on feet and hands as required,and or vented jacket for the damp days,shoe covers if the ground is wet or is raining
