Winter/Studded tyres

It's a very tricky judgement. But I would say to anyone that hasn't fallen off on ice; just after you hit, your views on tyre-choice will shift quite significantly!

Ice tyres meant I commuted to work by bike last week, rather than drove. Saving £10 a day including parking. Given I've had the tyres 13 years, it soon adds up.

I bloody hope not - another 10 years or so "working" for me, then I can use them for fun.

Today I rode the untreated cycle path back from work.
Seemed the ice was almost all melted, but it wasn't!
The studded tyres saved my bacon or I would have been flat on my face.
But then, I know they are very effective, otherwise I would have taken the road home

I can break THROUGH the ice with any old tyres!
