Just got around to fitting the tv card into my home PC and was running it throught he media centre last night (which was a bit of a revelation)..I think it's time for a speaker upgrade (possibly surround sound throughout the room) but can't face hiding all the wires.

Anyone have any good wireless solutions?

Can't advise on wireless speakers - sorry.

But is this for use in a living room?

I try not to use wireless anything if I can help it, get fed up with flat batteries. For my rear speakers I use a flat twin cable from Richer Sounds - it sits nicely under the carpet without showing a bulge.

You will need to think about what outputs you have on the sound card of the PC, and what type of Amp you will use.

My setup has a digital coaxial cable between the PC and the amp', which then feeds the hifi type speakers.

Are you using Windows Media Centre? I find it to be the best solution for a PC based DVR. If you start to ask about making the PC quieter - I'll know you're hooked on it

A good website for all things media center related is The Green Button.

Thanks RH.....only issue is, Hardwood floors!

I saw a set by Rimax that had AC powered speakers but no connecting cables and were weather proof for garden use (in the summer)

I may take a look at them

Have a look at Sonos, but bloody expensive for what you get. A friend had it and I was impressed, but my enthusiasm rapidly dwindled when I started working out the costs. Excellent kit, I suppose the rapha of the music world.
