Cubester has just spent four days in Amsterdam before heading off to a friend's house near Perugia. He rang me the other day and expressed great wonder at Amsterdam. They'd hired bikes and had a BBQ in Vondelpark. They'd also done the usual round of cafes and sex shows, as you would expect from a bunch of 18 year old lads, but he was genuinely amazed at how friendly and laid back everybody was. He told me that in four days he didn't see one single idiot laid out through booze or weed, and hadn't heard a single raised voice. If only we could import some of that over here.

Yes, I agree. I was in Amsterdam last year for Kingsday 2015 and am going back at Xmas. Oddly enough have never ridden a bike over there. Lovely place, very laid back, except for the drunk Brit stag do's..... Local Amsterdammers are great and have seen it all.
