While doing routine checks on the bike i noticed the rear wheel wobbled when i pulled it .

Thank frell i got a tool kit for christmas !!

on investigation the nut that holds the bearing tight had worked loose and the only thing stopping about an inch of play were the actual dropouts.
It was only a 15 minute job the take off the freewheel and re-tighten the axle nuts correctly but could have been interesting if i had not seen it ..........

Surprised you got the freewheel off, you must be as strong as Obelix! Well done!

TBH no i had 20 mins free time to do a check with having to mend a leaky roof today , that will be done when its a bit nicer and when i replace the freewheel and chain .

The free wheel does not sound perfect but i want it to last another month if i can to get out of the crappier weather before i buy a new one.

Bike only cost £80 odd quid off fleabay , i do not think the cost of replacing the hub etc would be worth it .

Hoping to save the bike as a back up when things pick up and i can look at a upgrade assuming work do scheme this year.
