Add an anecdote about motorcycle couriering and you could be the next Boris Bajic

Nooooooo! :stop::banghead:

I often wonder why Mathew takes the time to post here, seems clear to me the driver slows down to block him then makes a comment. He responds by waiting for her to clear and after her comment makes a minor rebuttal, then most importantly cycles on.

The mere fact that he posts anything seems to be a green light for a mob mentality to take over and everyone piles in.

Mathew you might want to consider creating a new account with a different user name and see what kind of response you get.

I don't think it's personal, but there are a lot of these indignant videos/threads from Mathew.
In saying that, he's young, he's learning and does seem to take the feedback on board.
I don't usually comment on them, in fact this is probably the first thread In which I have done so.
Anyway, I'd like to apologise to Mathew for my sarcastic post earlier, there wasn't really a need for it, just having a bad day.

Oaf on a Bike
I like watching his videos and seeing the responses from others  and he does seem to take note of feedback

In a lot of ways i prefer seeing minor or trivial incidents than watching cyclists being run off the road and near misses etc, makes the roads seem less scary
In my Vespa days I was once filtering past two crawling lines of traffic on a dual carriageway. A black BMW driver saw me coming and moved to the right to block my path. So I went to the left around him. As I passed along the front of his car he sounded his horn. I looked at him and he was looking away, laughing.

I took pleasure in knowing that as I scooted off into the distance leaving his lardy behind sweating frustratedly in the queue, he wasn't a happy man.

Looking back, I wish I'd been tempted to open one of his back doors while I was passing, but that would have been naughty.
Unfortunately I have a tendency to deal with this situation with the old Nescafe handshake.Im my own worst enemy and BMW drivers are my favourites.

Lost it, got it again.
My reading of it is that she was stopping to allow the car on the opposite side to cross - but this in itself is stupidly bad driving as 1) that cars crossing is dealt with by the lights sequence 2) by "letting" the other driver go, she hasn't considered other dangers and may make that driver pull out and cause and incident 3) she is holding up traffic behind her and therefore ruining the controlled flow.

So, Matthew was wrong in his initial assessment, but that doesnt excuse the driver of the VW softroader at all.

Dont usually comment on such threads but i feel the car did hold him up slightly but matthew should have stuck behind until she had passed, this kind of incident would have annoyed me but to me its a waste of time filming it, uploading it, then putting it up here

Could just be me but i would much rather spend my time enjoying my cycling and not moaning about every little thing that happens on the road cause the same things happen when you drive also, this is in no way a dig at matthew btw

My analysis:

1) I was walking in the supermarket behind an older woman
2a) a shapely wench walked past me
2b) my gaze was diverted, and my mind thought "cor"
3) the woman met her friend
4) they both stopped
5) I moved to the side, looking behind me at the shapely wench

I did video it on my shopping-cam but am keeping it to myself...

Did you happen to purchase tissues on said shopping trip?

I enjoy Matt's posts.

And trying to sound unpatronising, I do think Matt has a lot to learn with respect to what drivers do and that what he has posted is not a lot at all imo to get worked up about.
I agree. Its just that people here dont seem to be able to teach, they just bully expecting there to be no consequences.
