All those fishing lines are tied to latex pockets adhered to his skin that are also filled with stage blood. When action begins they will pull on the lines (that won't show because of lighting and angle) the buttons will rip through the latex, releasing the blood. The special effects chap Dick Smith did The Exorcist and Hoffman ageing in Little Big man.

I don't think it matters whether men or women are in charge. The problems are mainly because the people in charge are the people who want to be in charge! Having political ambition should automatically bar anyone from a position of power.

NT reckons political service should be on the same basis as jury service, for a fixed term. If people didn't have the main eye on getting re-elected, they might choose policies based on sense, not popularity...
