There was a piece on the BBC news about Jane Austin (the bionic woman) replacing Charles Darwin as the face on the £10.00 note. The presenter said it was sweet irony that the founder of evolution is replaced by a woman...something about money evolving...?

They seem to forget Queen Liz has had her fizzog on every piece of currency for the last 61 years or so....?

Unless Liz doesn't count as a woman?

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Brenda is there because of who she is. The others are there because of what they've done.

So Jane Austin's there because she wrote something?

Who next, J.K Rowling on a fiver?

No offense to Austin, but replacing Darwin with her ....?

You can't have Darwin on everything; and she is certainly England's greatest woman writer. I assume you haven't read any, otherwise you would at least spell her name correctly (and 'offence', come to that.) ;)
