Popped back into Bromley Bikes today. They didn't have any women's road bikes but tried cube peloton race....bit over budget but really liked it... And they have my size frame in stock..Is it worth the extra?

From the info on there site, it looks fantastic. Go with what makes you happy.
The bike i purchased was out of my price range but i liked the spec and it looked gorgeous and was a perfect fit.

I got mine even though it was out of my price range because i loved the way it looked and how it fitted me. Plus the spec for
the price i was paying was a bargain.

PS My bike came with Alpha Dot Security free. Not sure if it is exclusive to Cycle Surgery or if that is how all Cubes are done.

FWIW this is Mrs S's Spesh Dolce Elite, but the colour scheme only reinforces what RaRa said earlier. It's a well specced bike, Ultgra mechs, Hollowtech II, carbon forks etc, but there is no mistaking who the bike is aimed at, and look at the saddle! I say saddle, it's more of an armchair. Perhaps Specialized thought it would be good for using on a turbo trainer while watching Loose Women
This is 2005 model so perhaps things have improved in WSD a bit, but I think there will always be an element of WSD designated colour schemes.

Which saddle did you buy. I have just got a planet x carbon and went for my first ride yesterday. I have been riding a hybrid which has a lovely comfy saddle and I am sore today. Any tips anyone ?

You may just need to get used to the saddle or get more padded shorts! I am on my second one of these, comfy for me

The Charge saddles get good press too, the Ladle is for girls http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/product/14994/Charge_Ladle_Saddle

The saddle that came with my Khuota was basically a razor blade - the pain after an hour on that thing was indescribable  I swapped it for a Charge and I can't remember the model but it looks very similar to the Ladle linked by vickster. It will take a few rides to "bed in" but combined with padded shorts I find it quite comfy for several hours in the saddle.

I will admit they are lovely bikes but why oh why do they still insist on producing models with half the colour schemes having pink in them. Maybe it's just me but the minute I spot pink, baby blue or "flowers" on a bike my nose curls up and I pass it by. It could be the best bike in the shop but my instant reaction is "uggh".
Here is a pic of my better half's bike, as you can see she is not really into pink either

Although to be fair she has opted for a touch of pink since this was taken and now has a saddle with some pink in it.

Holy pink-a-rooney - is that really a pink chain?
That was taken nearly two and a half years ago so the chain has long gone, however.............. in the latest incarnation it now has purple wheels and lavender [a mistake in my opinion] handle bar tape. I have no pictures of the current bike as the camera couldn't cope with the colours.
I feel it was important that the picture was taken without any other colours in the garden present for obvious reasons. There are quite a few forumites who have seen this bike in the flesh so to speak and didn't need sunglasses.

I'm after one of these or a Bianchi Nirone 7 - just waiting to test ride them both...

Hi would appreciate some advice. I'm after a road bike for competing in triathlons and general training and looking to spend under £1000. I've been looking at the Specialized range and just wondered if getting the latest model is worth it. I can get the dolce elite 2011 for 750 or the 2012 dolce sport for 800. Also these are online,is it risky measuring what frame I'd need or is it worth going to a store and potentially paying more? The shops I have locally to me don't have a huge choice. I have a Giant store where I could get an Avail or a local bike shop where I could get a specialised. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks

Hi, just in case your still not sorted, I have a bike advertised in the classified section, Giant SCR1.5. Its my wife's road bike but she wont ride it now she's gor herself a cross bike so its just sat there taking up space. Ive advertised it at £280 but will concider serious offers. The bike has done about 200 mile tops and is mint. I still have the original purchase reciepts from AW Cycles. Reading. Only problem is a cant deliver so buyer would have to collect from Reading.
