Women's Tour cancelled for 2023

Rising costs and lack of sponsors. I've been out to watch them a couple of times and would do again if they were within range - sadly not this year.

They'd tried crowdfunding but only reached £18k of the £100k shortfall. Sadly another loss for this year.

The grassroots low level is benefitting from Zwift riders having a go, but the top level's really struggling.

Tour Series and WWT Tour both gone. Anyone want to place a bet on the men's Tour of Britain surviving?

Devastating news for all race fans.

Not like British Cycling and their partners could have helped with costs either, one of them only had profits of £1200 per second last year.

Damn shame - we need these races to build the concept of women's riding and people watching it

pretty sure lots of people would turn out to watch - but if they can't find teh sponsors then it won't work

not like you can charge and entry fee for most of the route!!

Why not start earlier on the same day as the mens tour or start 100km down the road??

Still a lot of costs to cover including where roads are closed simply for the tour passing it would need two sets of vehicles so engaged.

Such a shame, I'm really sad about it. I went to watch last year and it was such a good day.
