Hi, my girlfriend is wanting to replace the stock saddle on her Ridgeback Horizon tourer for something more comfortable and women-specific, could anyone give some tips on what she should try? She has a relatively small budget and I don't think is interested in Brooks saddles... Thanks

Depends on budget, but I personally didn't get on with a Brooks B17 as I need the cut out hole and someting with flex, so I got one of these instead:

In fact I have four Titanico LD watershed saddles (one on each of my bikes, including my track bike and my road-fixed). I did a 600km audax event on this saddle and can say it's the best saddle I have ever ridden on and I have tried a lot. The video on the website (half way down the home page, under "R&D Clips") is taken from underneath the saddle whilst someone is pedalling, so you can see the flexing action that makes it so comfortable. I don't know of any other saddle that does this.

It is not "women specific" as the design is such that it doesn't need to be. Unlike any other saddle, it fits round your form, not the other way around. This article may also help if she has any saddle comfort issues:

That's the one my wife uses.... and she's looking to change it! But that doesn't mean your gf won't get on with it oxford_guy, personals are about as personal as it gets on a bike!

Drop Kirstie a PM - she and I have the same saddle and we both love it. The difference is that she knows it's name. It's a Bontrager and we both use it on our touring bikes and thus can go for miles and miles :?:
