Working offshore

I am currently looking into trying my luck at working on the rigs off the UK coast, I've searched the forum and seen references from other members about working in the offshore industry, would anyone be able to spare me dome time for a telephone chat about their experiences and/or any advice (besides don't go ) they'd be kind enough to share with me?
If you'd rather post it here or post a link to a helpful webpage I'd be very grateful.

There's a facebook page called Offshore Jobs, have a scan there, there are more pages like that one too which are usually listed down the right hand side. Oilcareers and https://www.oilandgasjobsearch.com/ will give you ideas of which companies are recruiting and which agencies to use.

Also, the North Sea is a safe bet but expect folk offshore here to moan like fishwives constantly. Norway means better working conditions but you'll get stung badly on tax if you're contracting (even if you're staff they can mess your tax up)... Africa pays well but is usually month on month off work and not the safest of environments... Europe is generally a good deal, same for USA, and China usually means working with drunk people. Offshore industry in a nutshell!
