ELB almost closed on the finish straight, Reusser was close to getting her wheel, Vollering played it cool from the foront, Niewiadoma jumped with 150 to go, Vollering took her on and left her - think Niewiadoma cramped with about 50m to go

That was like a tight MSR finale, with chasers closing a two up sprint ahead of them - except there were about 80km of great racing before it!

Same. Looked away for a moment and she was dropped and trying to chase. I still haven't really seen how it happened, looked like it went very quickly
The strongest rider rode away however unlike in most mens races the chasers did some work to bring her back and then we’re not afraid to have a go. But clearly Demi didn’t panic and rode even at times others wouldn’t come through until they realised they not be riding for at least second. So they worked but at the end grit and talent won through but what race.

I agree that it was a great race. Shame about the big crash taking some potential contenders, but it was a excellent performance by Demi: animating the race with her breakaway and then getting the job done in the gallop.
I think she will do the rainbow jersey proud next year.
