FYI - Peugeot stopped producing cars in the UK back in 2007 when they shut their Ryton plant. That plant was used to build the 206 model, but when the 207 was announced the decision was made to move it's production to Slovakia.

From an article in the GUARDIAN in 2006: "PSA Peugeot-Citroën said it had decided to close the plant because of its high production and logistical costs which meant it could not justify the €255m (£175m) investment required to bring in new models to replace the Peugeot 206, which is currently built there."

"One of the managers said it was simple maths. It costs £11.50 [an hour] to build the car here, and about £2.50 to build it in Slovakia."

Missed that one - I thought they were still going.
But I forget Nissan from the list. We of course are still have MINI, Jag and Range Rover which although are foreign owned are making cars here. I do find it hard to work out how we can still be making such numbers of cars when we are basically down to a few niche markets plus the big Japanese makers getting round the EU import thing.

Odd how we have no loyalty to British cars where the French stay solidly loyal to their home brands. Go to France and they still seem to drive about 95% PSA or Renault cars.

Given that they fly to airports generally so far away from the actual destination, that might be a much longer book than you at first realise!!

How did they get him to do the voiceover on the confused dot com adverts?

Am I the only one to find those adverts repulsive and downright creepy??
