Bought a turbo trainer yesterday. Decided to go for trial ride with Macc Wheelers tomorrow. Thinking about carbon bling-bikes.

Bought a turbo trainer yesterday. Good luck, they bore me to tears TBH, even if following a training DVD

Decided to go for trial ride with Macc Wheelers tomorrow. Good luck again, loads of club riders on here but clubs do nowt for me either TBH (this may just be my perception of the clubs near me).

Thinking about carbon bling bikes. Why is carbon considered bling? FYI it is not an upgrade, it is just another frame material

You're going to take ages to get to the ride, even if you have a carbon bike on the Turbo Trainer. I recommend you take the bike as it is and give the club a try like that.

I survived the club run. It was very different from cycling alone. Rather nerve-wracking tearing round the lanes two-abreast. I found the pace quite comfortable until the end where I rather faded for some reason. Odd really as I have gone faster on my own. Possibly it was due to the concentration I needed. All the moving out and taking turns at the front seemed very alien. Still, they were friendly enough. Will I go again? Not sure.

was that the evening training run? the club run takes place on a saturday with a cafe stop, which is probably more suitable than the thursday training ride for someone not used to the club scene…
