Yahoo mail is playing up for me today also on Google Chrome.
I am getting a similar message. So can surmise that it's Yahoo's not our fault.

phew! I thought it was because we sold that Jesus geezer down the river! Jewish guilt mode switched off!

I'm not getting the hanging thing, Mr. P

I sometimes get this when trying to open certain web pages (innocuos sites - nothing dodgy). I'm running Vista and Firefox 64 bit, and every now and then the browser will lock up as the page is trying to open, with this message. I sometimes get messages saying there's a Java update available, but when I try updatting I get another message saying that the update is not compatible with 64bit browsers ?!?!

I get it an awful lot opening large lists of comments on Reddit.com using Internet Explorer.

I use Internet Explorer at work because we can't connect to the internet with anything else.

Internet Explorer, even in it's latest incarnations is truly awful.

Do yourself a favour and switch to Chrome, Firefox or Opera. There are horrible bugs in IE that date back 10 years and MS don't give a toss. Get rid of it.

To be fair though, the Flash plugin crashes constantly on Chrome and it's been doing that for weeks now.
In fact, in desperation, I switched back to IE last night only to get that familiar "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close" error in less than a minute of using it

Surely in this day and age it shouldn't be this hard to access the internet reliably?

This type of problem is normally down to a site 'needing' to fetch something from a different location to its main data. It'll effectively hang up while it waits to get what it is told to. Generally down to either bad server infrastructure design or bad site design.

Flash can also do it sometimes, just because it can. Best tip ever - noscript , load only the bits of the page that you want.

You know out of curiosity and frustration I decided to download IE9.

Blimey it's actually quite good!

Funny how all the browsers look like Chrome these days ;)

I don't use Yahoo and I use Firefox but I've had a similar script not responding message a few times, touchwood it seems to sort its self out if you choose the Firefox option to 'wait' or 'stop' it and refresh the page; I think its down to a slow connection either at the server end or my end.
