Little V after watching "Dick and Dom's Absolute Genius" about rockets became obsessed with them when Dick and Dom made a Rocket and launched it...................... So I googled rocket clubs and found one that was 10 miles away....... So we went this morning, they let spectators along for free, but their enthusiasm and obsession was very addictive (there was a stall there selling kits and fuel etc and I could of easily spent £50 or £60 there and then!)

Some small ones were launched then a medium one which made a hell of a racket and drifted nearly half a mile on its parachute........I asked if it was going up again but apparently it uses £20 worth of fuel each flight!

The one in the picture fell of the the launch pad after the photo was took due to the wind......so didn't fly:sad:

That's Little V (Benjamin) and his cousin and 2 guys from the club, but they made us most welcome and we will be visiting again......................

Edit: They kept eyeing up the panda to see if it would fit in a rocket...........

The problem is...... To get insurance you have to join something like "British rocket association" (I forget the exact name) and get membership of the local club to use their electronic launch equipment so the two memberships cost about £100 a year..................... but they will allow you to 'piggyback' (their words) their insurance for £6 a flight while you decide if you want to pursue rocketry as a hobby..... and a starter rocket kit can be had for £30:whistle:
We've bought a few ready-mades and assembled a couple of kits. It's not expensive if you stick with the small ones.
So they said..... but my first road bike was £220..... my current one was nearly 4 x that and my next (way way in the future) may well be carbon:shy: so on that note..... I would end up wanting to fly ones like in the picture........ and if half that size cost £20 a launch......

But I may get a small kit and try it........ got to be done, me thinks
