Would you get your cycling badge at Scouts?

My lad has his.

They have to 'earn' the badges, and got his Chief Scout awards a couple of years ago, aged 11 nearly 12 at the time ! They work them hard at our Pack !

We had some Beavers with us on District Camp last year, they all survived OK, must have been shattered! The Cubs just seemed to spend the night eating sweets, I hate to think what the Scouts were up to....

I was going to say that we don't do girls.... but it could be taken the wrong way!

Our Group can't take girls as all the Scout Leaders and Cub Scout Leaders are male

We have steadfastly refused until we can have a female leader at the meetings

seems a touch odd that, our scout group is all male leaders but has both boy and girl scouts. they do have some young leaders in training from the explorers though.
the beavers and cubs are all female, or were till i volunteered for cubs.

You don't need a female there. Even on camps for Scout's. Same here goes for cubs, all male leaders, but plenty of girls in the group.

Just for the record, I have noted the word "beaver" in this thread, but felt that a joke would not be appropriate :-)
Incidentally, the cubs asked me to leave, when I were a lad, as they felt I wasn't taking it seriously, which was true. :-)

I got kicked out in the end, my my reckons Skip told her they would have to get 'special insurance' if I was to continue going.

Girls in Scouts was he best thing ever when it started as we got all the posh girls from the local boarding school

My cub scouting ended when the toilet cubicle door upon which I had been pounding and shouting at, thinking my mate was inside, burst open to reveal the Scout Master in the middle of a s**t.

We have done the badge several times ,over the years ,and take them out on long rides in the forest, just to keep them quiet!!

Like the long ride idea, though my lot seem to manage noise and 2 hour hikes at the same time!!

We go to amazing lengths to tire them out , its character building !
