I would have taken the money unless I was 100% sure that I knew the answer. £250k down to £32k is too much of a potential loss for me as I'm not a gambling man. I always used to wish contestants would take the money rather than guess once the cash was much over the thousand mark.

My guess would be B, 11 inches.... But I'd have taken the money regardless.

Exquisite. The husband reaction shots are brilliant.
Interestingly (FSVO "Interestingly, obvs.) searching for "marsupial of all England" brings up a version of that episode, recounted by Gervais Phinn in his book "Out of the Woods but Not Over the Hill." Except in it he says his friend, who watched the show, said the contestant went 50:50 and then phoned a friend and the friend advised the hapless contestant that the answer was marsupial. Which, having watched the clip, is patently untrue.

She has my sympathy. It's quite possible to be quite good at trivia, and just be unlucky with the questions. The next click youtube showed me, I'd have been out with zero cash like the first contestant, because I've never even heard of
Frank Carson
, but if I'd been the next guy I'd have also won £1M if I used 2 life lines the way he did.

Edit: but yep, Marsupial. Ouch! I bet every time she hears a bishop called a Primate she dies a little inside.
