I've just taken another look at the picture. At first I thought it was a dodgy half-finished bridge that for some reason ran alongside a river.

I've just realised it's an aquaduct with some planks strapped across the top, I seriously need to get down to the opticians

yeah, we climbed and played on worse over the claypits and quarries as kids.one nutter rode his bmx to the end of a gantry support steel about 6 inches wide where there was a platform up to one of the cranes. it is remembering things like that i wish we had iphones/cameraphones back then.

if he had fwell it was a 30 M drop into the water at the deepest part of the pit. legend has it the water was another 100 ft deep. more likely 6 ft.
