Would you pay £12 - £20

Would you pay £12 - £20 for a vinyl album from Tescos?

  • Hell no! What a rip off!

  • Definitely! Worth it at twice the price!

  • What is this new 'vinyl' music format?

Some new music is released in Lp format, (don't know how much they go for) so it wouldn't be pre-loved items for sale in Tesco.
I remember when all music was LP

Crikey, I remember when you had a choice between 33, 45 and 78 rpm.

Vinyl definitely has a warmer sound, but I have absolutely nothing to play it on any more.
I don't remember the 78, the 33 and 45 yes, I do.
Much prefer the modern mp3 or 4 in the cloud :becool: remember when moving flat was a nightmare with all the LPs and the books, omg, the books!
Still have lots, but getting slowly replaced by ebooks.

No, and hell no, no more vinyl for me. I did the wall full of shelves with hundreds of lp many (many) years ago and now I much prefer carrying 60 days of music on a device about the same size as a BASF 90min cassette.

My daughter bought a turntable about nine months ago. She hasn't collected much vinyl. When the albums she wants to buy cost north of £25 each, I'm not entirely surprised.

12-20 quid isn't bad for a vinyl LP these days (they were a good tenner twenty years ago)... but being Tesco it'll be Adele, Beiber, 1-Direction so all clearly overpriced. I've purchased 2 vinyl LPs this year and each was closer to £20 than £12

The old Northern Soul singles were like gold dust back in the 70's 80's with prices to make your eyes water..and some are very sought after now..
i have 100's on cd now ,its so easy to listen to loads of stuff without the aggro..or i may be lazy.
i liked playing the singles when that was all you had.

i love vinyl but i dont have a means of playing them..
i keep meaning to sell all my old vinyl..

I saw them when I went in there on Thursday night, they're definitely going for the middle aged market.

Guns n Roses, The Stone Roses, Fleetwood Mac.
