.. insists that they make no cold calls, nor send any junk mail asking if you would like to take up their offer of a credit card.

When you try to find out why they they are sending it to you, the best answer they can give is that it was requested by me. "Its the only way they send things out".

The contact number provided turns out to be an answerphone only. The address at which they say you can go & talk to them(for any concerns you may have) turns out to be a rented room within a larger building. However there is no-one there.

They also use/give another companies telephone number, insisting that its theirs.

I don't trust any bank, but as the firm won't pay me in cash I'm a bit stuffed.

erm, no. sounds like a bit of a scam really,

when I say bit, I mean small,

in the same way that a pizza the size of the united states would be considered small

so not really that small.

If I understand you correctly, they have given you an address that exists but they are not there.

They have given you phone numbers that are not theirs.

Not only would I not trust it as a bank, I wouldn't trust it at all - it must be a scam and I think it out to be reported (or at least discussed with trading standards or someone) so others aren't swindled

I'll look after your money ^_^

I wouldn't trust them (I really wouldn't trust me, either) but we need to know who they are to get on this bandwagon properly.

A while ago there was a fake bank/building society masquerading as a bona fide regulated institution. It used a variation on a legitimate bank/building society's name abut the address was a boarded up run down building possibly in London.

Sorry about the vagueness but it the best that I can do with my frazzled brain on a Friday afternoon.

It's the united bank of Nigeria.
Thats the sort of bank I was thinking of, when I went to the address on their paperwork. Dodgy looking paperwork that looked as though it had been printed of a school.

Vanquis is the name.
