Writing instructions on the bike. Is it just me?

When I'm adjusting the brakes I can never remember which way to turn the little screws. So I wrote this on the bike in permanent marker.

Anyone else write useful instructions on their bike?

I may have jotted something similar on a shelf in my garage for loosening and tightening pedals as I'm a mechanical muppet who can't remember these things!

That's a great idea. Time was one could look at the stop adjusters on a rear mech and work out which was which. Now it's pot luck.

Absolutely not. Get those scratches polished up. Tisk ! Clockwise tighten - easy to remember, tightening a screw will push the v-brake arm away. PS they should rarely need adjusting.

They came with writing on them!

Its the fact that its such a teeny little adjustment, you don't know you're doing it wrong til you've cocked it up completely and caused yourself more frustrating work. I used to google it everytime, so I just wrote it on my bike instead!

No need, the nice people who make them put H on the hot tap and C on the cold even I can remember this.
