Nah
I don't actually know what following does.
I ignore a lot of people, but I do it by not paying any attention to their posts, not by pressing a button.

Me also. Not knowingly 'ignored' anyone as in pressed a button.

I find "ignore thread" handy. It just declutters the site. I don't use it because there are threads that offend me or make me angry or anything like that, just that there are quite a few threads that I'm just not particularly interested in.

I think you might get a clue about who is following you from "Drago's Special Thread" that was active a while ago

I seem to remember a woman from down the road that might be a candidate

maybe she was playing hard to get and is feeling left out

watch out for a Yugo driving past the house too often!!!

it means they get notified any time you post something.

Sorry, the quotes are upside down, but there's your answer.
Actually, if you follow someone, you will also see in your news feed what posts they liked, or any other interactions on the forum.
@Dave7 are you still uncomfortable being followed on CC?
Have you told the follower?

Can you tell who is following you? I could find a list of who I follow (no one) but not a list of my followers.

I remember a while back someone joined the board and was very active for a while and followed me. They didn't last very long. Probably because all the rubbish that I post appeared on their feed and drove them away.
