Got down on the drops that is :wahhey: . Been trying to pluck up the courage to do this for a while and finaly tonight for maybe 2-300 yards I got down and tried it out. Much better that the last attempt when I lost control half way through the movement and was heading toward a fairly deep ditch before I managed to get control back. Well now I know I can do it I will give it another go on tomorrow night's ride :wahhey: :wahhey: .

Next, you'll be aero tucking at 50 mph, with hands either side of the stem (like right next to them), elbows in, ar$e in air, knees tucked in...

TBH descending is far safer on the drops.

Assuming the bike is the right size for you, How come you find it difficult to get down on the drops?
Just curious...

:bravo: I was like this the first few times I went down onto the drops, but am getting the hang of it now.  I am still a bit wobbly on the road bike, I think that is mostly down to my poor pedaling technique destabilising the thing.

I used to stop at the top of hills and move my hands down into the drops. Now I can move up and down without thinking about it. It just takes practise.

Good work. I'm one who prefers the drops for descents. Saying that I always had drop handlebars when I was growing up and got my first flat bar when I was in my twenties.

Next up, clip on tri bars ;)
