Yaris Cross ?

T'was the latest What Car reliability survey.

93.1% rating in isolation doesn't sound too bad, but that makes it the third least reliable hybrid of any kind covered by the survey.

Both sister in laws have a Yaris Cross. No issues so far other than it's more cramped in the back than the Gen1 Yaris we had. Couldn't get my size 9 feet out the back door.

work colleague who lives up the road just popped down with his estate corrolla and it does fit in the drive albeit tight , it has the boot that you can wave your foot at which is great for mrs ck and the full parking sensor and rear camera would make it a boon.
I would put padding on the gate and the wall to make it a bit safer as it is tight

I fancy a Yaris cross next but they hold strong money still. Had a 2.0 corolla before and really liked that car. That’s the only thing that sways me away from the Yaris is I can get the 2.0 corolla estate for a good few thousand less than the Yaris. Saying that though they don’t stay for sale long, every time my local dealer has one in it’s gone within a week or 2.

im plumping for the 1.8 gr touring sport estate as it has a lot more rear legroom than the hatchback or the yaris cross and it has the tailgate you can operate with a switch inside or leg wiggle under the rear bumper, as mrs ck is 4 foot 8 ish she cant reach the tailgate on a hatchback or the yaris cross and we have to have a strap so she can reach our atm .
I have priced insurance and its about another £100 a year compared to our old dacia , when you factor in the included VED, service, breakdown recovery etc then in real terms the car will cost me around £120 a month more than the old paid for car before i factor in better fuel economy and the fact mrs ck finds it easier to drive as its an auto hybrid.
