as well as the 6-8" of snow that just will not go away. Wish I could cycle as office carpark is a nightmare, they can not get anyone to clear it so it is just turning into a frozen mess.

And the hail that has just started now

Embarassingly, having said all that I did about the weather - I was in Grangemouth McD's for b/fast on Sunday morning when two guy's from the Denny(Cycle Posse') came in for a pit stop. :cold: They had cycled in bibs / tights / layers and proceeded to call the other guy's in the club to hear all their excuses for not turning up. They'd brought their mountain bikes, instead of their road bikes....v/brave guy's! Saw them again today in Denny - heading for the Carron Damms(I think). Probably guys in their early 50's - they certainly don't make them like they used to!!!!!!!!!!:cold::blush::laugh:

Well done FF!

Shame though - I was going to offer to take your bikes off your hands for you.

Excellent FF! May your 2010 have many happy miles.
I too have been running a lot lately, and enjoying it...when I say lately I mean up to two weeks ago when I got a nasty cold - since stopping work for Christmas I have done nothing except sleep! The mind is willing but the flesh is weak ;)

i've decided to say "screw it" to the doctor who told me to stay off my bike until i see him on 12/01/10. he thinks i'll fall off and further injure my shoulder; all i have to do is avoid ice and riding like a rider in a tdf peloton.

decided this after nearly coming a cropper on frozen pavements which are next to perfectly clear roads…

so once i'm back from scotland on the 4th, i'm back on. been off faaaaaar to long…

Running seems to be a regular winter excercise here. I've done it for the last 2 winters with my daughter at the local track (Over the road, which is handy). This year though the Juniors have trained at the leisure centre and timing-wise it makes no sense to get her to the indoor training and me to get back to the track, so I have not run this winter. I have to say that even though I detest running, it has it's benefits in terms of easy all-weather effective CV workout. I don't mind the track on clubnights, but running the streets is no joy.
Enjoy your sloth and get well soon!
