    and some bad cycling

The A128 is full of large lorries heading towards Tilbury Docks. but they were all reasonable passes.

Then a learner car passes me in a manner that would certainly fail in a test. I didn't notice if there was a passenger so don't know if it was the instructor driving.

I have written to Swift Taxis to ask for a little more consideration from their drivers.

Finally I manage to findout how to get drivers to give me a wide berth. I have stuck a note on the bars "Outside pedal down"

Weirdly thought I was going to have an AA learner go into me today. He wouldnt put the brakes on and just kept edging out from the junction, windows down and I heard no audible command from the instructor. In the end I had to go wide and shout out "You are stopping aint ya mate??!"

No response. Completely blanked by both. I beat them down the end of the road too. Nervous drivers need clear and concise instruction imo.

Will look at your vids in a sec, Mr C. Your stuff is always interesting.

Mmm I didn't bother looking them up as I expected it to be a one man school. I have now e-mailed them and asked if they think that that is an acceptable way to drive.

That taxi was moronic. Far too fast for the conditions imo. The driving school one, too. One day a helmet cam will pick up video of one of these people smashing into another car - and very possibly taking the cyclist out at the same time.;)

I nickname it MOAACs (must overtake at all costs)

The driving school one, it could of been somebody failing their test. Probably 9 times out of 10 if the person next to a learner driver is not giving any verbal instructions except for where to turn, that person is probably a DSA examiner.

  7. I had one of them on my way home this evening at the narrow zebra crossing in the middle of Hythe. Bar steward couldn't wait until I had made the right turn which I had slowed down and indicated for. I couldn't get to far over to the right because the road before and after the crossing is so badly patched from when it was installed that the smoothest line is to the left. My only consolation is that s/he did it right underneath the village's CCTV camera.
