Yorkies - roofer recommendations?

Sorry to ask something of little interest to the vast majority of CCers i.e. anyone not living in/near York... but recent rain has required action... and asking friends/neighbours for recommendations has come up blank so far...

Can anyone recommend a roofer for some modest-scale repairs (on a small mid-terrace house in York)?

Have a sagging gutter at the front which drips badly (needs replacing and extra brackets fitting), and also the back roof has a number (15-20ish IIRC) of broken/cracked slates which need replacing. Plus some flashing tape needs replacing to cure a small leak where a flat roof joins a wall...

Would have a go myself but (a) no ladders (b) nowhere to put ladders were I to get some (c) no time (d) no slating tools and (e) Gromit isn't keen on me balancing on ladders and waving a drill around...

So, anyone got any recommendations? PM me if you prefer not to post contact details here...

Doesn't Arch live around York? Ironically she has an issue with Yorkies, the chocolate bar, on account of the sexist advertising.

If I wasn't so bothered by heights and vertigo I would offer to do it. I have all the equipment, ladders, scaffold towers, etc. I did my roof a couple of years ago.

I am indeed in York, but know nothing useful about roofers, or roofing!

Watch out for eponymous Acomb roofers. I found there were 2 companies very similarly named, one is good and the other is much less competent. Guess which I got!

Your best bet is to look around for ongoing works or several quotes and then ask to see work they have done (a perfectly reasonable request).

There is some work going on here but they look a bit slapdash - the ridge tiles meander and they haven't bothered to do a good colour match.
