Belgium's fantastic! A bonkers political system, wonderful mediaeval towns, a great coastline including the world's longest tramway, waffles and beer that's almost as good as southern England's. It's also mostly pancake flat.

My favourite meal out was of ribbetjes and fritjes in a Belgian town square. A whole rack of ribs and a monstrous bowl of chips with mayonnaise for not much more than a fiver.

Trouble with Belgium is that half of them choose to be French!
