Cake or ice cream? The choice is endless ...

For my Yorkshire Puds, I use equal, by volume, amounts of eggs, milk and plain flour. Whisk eggs and milk, rest for a while (the eggs and milk, that is) then seive in the flour, whisk and leave resting in the refrigerator until needed, at least a couple of hours.

20 mins in a hot oven seems to do it, but it's a bit hit and miss with the results.

I'm using this recipe for taod in the hole this afternoon so I'll se how it goes!

  1. 1 large egg
  2. Half pint of milk
  3. 4 ounces of plain flour (4 heaped tablespoons)
  4. Pinch of salt
Chuck it all in a liquidiser/blender and blitz for 30 seconds, check no flour has stuck to the side of the blender jug, if it has scrape it off with a spatula then blitz again.
Pour over half cooked sausages (30 mins at 200c) in a suitable dish and continue to bake at 200c for another 30 mins

140g plain flour
3 eggs
200ml milk
Pinch of salt

Whisk the eggs, flour and the salt with a splash of the milk until there's no lumps. Gradually whisk in the milk until you have a smooth batter the consistency of single cream. Leave in the fridge for an hour of so. Give it a quick whisk just before you use it. Oven for 20 - 25 mins at 210'c
