Weird Yorkshire weather...

5 minutes ago, we had bright blue skies and I was feeling guilty for not getting out on my bike. Now, the sky has gone dark and we are getting battered by hail!

I'm glad I stayed in...

Must be heading my way....oh joy!!! I cycled to work.

No, the wind is supposedly blowing towards the SSE (I can't be bothered to go out and check). Anyway, the hail only lasted 5 minutes, it rained hard for another 5 and now the sun is coming back out!

No, scrub that... I went downstairs to make a mug of tea, now it is black and raining again!

From this, I surmise that are large patches of thick black cloud over northern England and these are being blown over at a fairly rapid rate. When there is a break in the clouds, it's a nice day, and when there isn't, it isn't! Shall I apply for a job at the Met Office?

Nah, you're obviously vastly over-qualified.

And anyway, since when has the Met office ever been remotely interested in anything outside the home counties?

I was in Huddersfield today. Very weird weather, sunshine and heavy rain, double rainbows, very cold and windy!

Sounds about right, come back later and we'll probably be having plagues of locusts, and/or raining frogs. I blame the fact that we're too close to Mordor (aka Lancashire)

Very beautiful down here in lundontown - clear blue skies 'n bright sunshine. Cold but...I think the fingerless mitts are going to have to take their annual hibernation.

Now if the tittle had been Yorkshire tea ColinJ I would have been far more interested
Well, you have big hills too so you probably have a micro-climate of your very own!

Hmm, tea! Actually, I can't afford Yorkshire Tea so I have to make do with cheapo supermarket brands.

The sun is shining again today but I don't think it is going to turn nasty so I'm about to go out on t' bike.

If I'm not back by dark, send for the Calder Valley Search and Rescue team. (Just kidding - please don't!)

It was raining heavily here last night aswell.

Freezing tempertures overnight and no grit on the side roads / cyclepaths meant this morning was my first icy commute this winter.

Well, I did go out for a couple of hours. It was a lovely sunny afternoon ride but I was surprised by how cold it was. It looked to me like the gritters had been out at Blackstone Edge last night.
