Theres a youtube compilation showing all the times Seen Been (as us fellow Yorkies like to pronounce it) has been killed in a film - its a lot

My mother used to work in the careers office and one day a girl came in and said her name was Siobhan - she pronounced it sigh-o-ban

no - she didnt have a job!

I thought Sean Bean was amazing in Accused the other week, playing an English teacher/transvestite homosexual accused of murdering his lover's wife.

We should all learn to write/type words phonetically to avoid any confusions

Being called Siobhan Mainwaring and having to spell your name ever time you tell it anyone would be irritating.

Isn't Bean the Anglicised version of Beaghan anyway?

To work out what your name would be in Gaelic just add lots of vowels at random and drop in a gh.

Gréagóir O'Cuilleain here.

Not a gh in site.

But you've a good point about the vowel surplus versus Gregory Collins ;)

Even "phonetically" is not written phonetically... otherwise it'd be "fonetikly".

So to speak.

I met Sean Bean at Derby County's ground many years ago. He is a lifelong Blade and went to this particular away game. Fans were coming up to him to shake his hand. He was very modest and looked slightly embarrassed by all the attention he was receiving.
