you're going round the building, lately audited for fire, with the Approved Inspector and you can't help but notice

- fire doors jammed open with cardboard wedges (I'd already confiscated the door stops)
- a fire door closer replaced with..........elastic bands

Always a nervous time when "inspectors" come around; you hope they won't notice x, y or z but they always, always do. It must be in their training.
