I got out for the first time in 10 days today, only had chance for 5 wheezy, lung-burny miles. I didn't feel as fit as I had been, but hoping it only takes about a week to get back where I was.

I'm having a cosy night in with the missus tonight, so should be fit for a decent run tomorrow morning when traffic's at a minimum.

Can't wait....

Get on your bike Grace - London is nice today. Bimble around Hyde Park and soak up the sights of people meandering. I'm going to get a photo of my blue bike on its last commute of the year - probably around Marble Arch, although Trafalgar Square is monumentally tempting...just for CycleChat archival purposes.:headshake:
Not only will you look a million dollars, you'll feel it too!

Shameless thread hijack, but Martin - 9,000 posts, and I believe you do have a life!!

Even more amazing because of the quality of your contributions - here's to the next 1,000/10,000:biggrin:

I've not been on the bike a couple of weeks now because of the snow but what I have been doing is a fair amount of mountaineering which has been pretty amazing. Sometimes a break does you good.

Ah! I hadn't realised - but thanks for the kind words Mick. I did go to the 'usual meeting place' this after - but strangely enough there was no-one there!

You've got to start somewhere! Did the same myself today after about 3 weeks off due to illness. Pace was worse than pathetic but I felt good afterwards and things can only get better from here...

Getting out of the house is the hardest thing but its all good after that
I did just that about an hour ago.

I only did a couple of miles but I'm still coughing and wheezing from man 'flu, so didn't want to push it. My excuse / inspiration was trying out the Veho Muvi, which worked fantastically well with a head torch.

It certainly was chilly, though.
