...but I'm looking forward to Eastenders tonight - I'm not that bothered about who killed Archie, but I'm intrigued to see how they manage a live episode. Will they cop out a bit and stick to one or two interior locations, or will they manage plenty of outdoor/indoor transitions etc. (Bearing in mind that the interiors aren't actually inside the exteriors...)

Of course, most TV drama used to be live, but audiences expect something a bit slicker these days....

Apparently, to keep the secret, they're rehearsed different denouments, and will only be telling the cast who the killer is about now...

I was going to do a post about it but thought I would get too much abuse! I dont think anyone dare abuse you Arch...;)

I also am looking forward to it in an odd way, can't believe its actually going to be live, maybe time delayed by a minute or two incase they swear or mess up surely.

No,they call them 'duff duffs' after the theme drum riff.

Yeah Wigsie, I wondered about a delay, just in case.

I wonder if they'll have drafted in editors and so on who are used to multi-camera live stuff, which takes a bit of concentrating on. And I wonder how complicated they'll make it. You forget, watching it, just what's involved in a simple 'walking down the street' scene - cameras on dollies, lighting etc, all of which you have to keep put of sight if you are then cutting to a different angle - you can't spend the time dismantling it all and checking lines of sight and so on. And thinking about it, they can't do any 'character walks into Vic and up to the bar' shots from outside and in, because the interior isn't just inside the exterior. If they are going to have exterior/interior stuff, actors are going to have to hot foot between the outside lot and the interior sets...

I bet they'll keep it as simple as possible, and I'll be well impressed if they pull off anything really tricky. I'm impressed enough at them risking it at all.

I agree, I think it will be one of those fixed set episodes where the whole episode is filmed in one or two locations between a limited cast (mainly the suspects). Probably the Vic mainly with not many character/angle changes! i bet they keep the lighting quite moody and dark too, trying to be a bit arty (hiding any smirks or giggles)

For me it'll be total number of episodes watched before tonight = total number watched after tonight = 0

Congratulations!

Oh and I think it was Ben or Sean!:blush::blush:

Ben? What, he tapdanced him to death?

I have no idea, and as I said, I'm not holding my breath to find out. It's mostly background noise for me these days, as I'm on here every evening! Tonight I think I'll log off and get into bed with a cuppa and pay attention.

I'm not scoffing - if you like it watch it, I just can't stand soaps.

fair enough. I can't bear football, or those talent shows where they say "and the winner is.... <five minute pause> ...Chanisse!"

Although last year's Comic Relief Strictly was worth seeing for Robert Webb's flashdance.

I am ashamed to have this opinion.... but Peggy is the only main character leaving, so its not any of the core suspects (which would be to obvious anyway) as they are all big cast members, it has to be someone that can fleet in and out of a live episode as next weeks episodes have already been filmed etc so if one member of the cast was just not used then they may start to suspect they were going to jail. Ben has not been in it much since crimbo and he may have his GCSE's coming up so could do with a few months/years off, Sean is the only other possible character that could come back for a one off.

Wow, you've thought about that!

Good logic.

Not only this, I'm still dealing with Phil dying in The Archers...

(those are the only soaps I follow...)
